Flirting With Disaster
David O. Russell's deliriously funny road-movie couldn't be more different
from his previous Spanking the Monkey -- but it is no less
imaginative and prickly. Ben Stiller, with wife, son and social worker in
tow, sets off across America to find his birth parents, picking up quite a
crew of zany characters along the way. When's the last time in a movie you
literally could not predict what was going to happen from one moment to the
next? Super-charged comic performances from everyone, including Mary Tyler
Moore, Alan Alda, Lily Tomlin, and Tea Leoni.
