"Where were you last night?" he said, his face flushed with anger.

When she came through the door, he told himself - for god's sake don't react, take your time, find out if she was cheating, but go at it slowly, with finesse.

His vision blurred so he wasn't sure now if she was walking towards him or not.
Turns out she was because the woman did not have a twenty foot arm and the force of the punch felt very close.
Also, he was pretty sure he could smell Mennen After Shave coming off her sweaty body as he went down.
