![[Laz says]](../Images/lp-name.gif) In the American version of "Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud" two things would have happened. First, the two lead characters would have become a couple in the end of the film. Second, your character, Nelly, would have been naked in the film. What are your thoughts about nudity?
![[Emanuelle says]](../Images/eb-name.gif) Well she IS naked, mentally.
![[Laz says]](../Images/lp-name.gif) Michelle Pfeiffer says that she wouldn't mind taking off all her clothes if her male co-stars were to do the same.
![[Emanuelle says]](../Images/eb-name.gif) Well you know I did a movie where I was naked from beginning to end? It was distributed in the states and screened at the New York Film Festival. But we had a purpose to do nudity in that film. My character was a model, the other character was a male painter. It was very exposing to be naked. Usually, I don't like it. I don't feel comfortable that's all. I don't think it's pure, I don't even do it at home, so I don't see why I'd do it on the screen.
![[Laz says]](../Images/lp-name.gif) When you read the script, what attracted you to this project?
![[Emanuelle says]](../Images/eb-name.gif) Well this very weird relationship, I would say, and Nelly's part because I've been playing a lot of very active, passionate parts and I thought it would be great to play something more...Uhmm... you know, she's kind of out of it, out of life. She doesn't look like me but she could look like certain periods of my life. You know what I mean? There are times where you don't know exactly what you are going to do, you just quit with the past, like your job or love life, whatever, you know?
![[Laz says]](../Images/lp-name.gif) I know.
![[Emanuelle says]](../Images/eb-name.gif) Think of it as if you just took a plane. You know you don't want to take this plane anymore, but you don't know what or when is the next plane.
![[Laz says]](../Images/lp-name.gif) Huh?
![[Emanuelle says]](../Images/eb-name.gif) I thought it was very attractive to play this kind of part. Very silent, distanced.
