| When I moved to San Francisco I was feeling a little bereft at not having my familiar sweet spots, when good fortune knocked on my door. A friend stopped by one evening to bring me one of the most beautiful fruit tarts I had ever seen. It was from an exquisite pastry shop called La Nouvelle Patisserie on oh-so-hip Union Street. I'd found home again!!! | ![]() |
![]() | La Nouvelle Patisserie turns out some of the most gorgeous sweet things you can imagine. From sophisticated little canapés to the most fanciful wedding cakes. Brilliant colors and textures of every kind like the tarte exotique with cascades of berries, grapes, mango and kiwi. They have delicate handmade chocolates formed for every seasonal occasion, with swirls of color running through white chocolate hearts for Valentines Day, and sparkling little Christmas trees for winter holidays. |
| Their goodie case makes even the most dedicated dieter let down their guard. Really, just about everything to be found is a culinary work of art. To me, this is a special occasions place. I always include it on my out of town visitors tour and watch their faces as they realize they're in dessert heaven.
