The geisha districts of Kyoto present a blank face to the world. Seamless
rows of aged wooden facades, tiny two-story houses whose bamboo shades
blind the windows, block any glimpse inside. The world of geisha does not
give up it's secrets easily.It is a formidable barrier for a photographer
to penetrate, but penetrate, Jodi Cobb does.
Geisha contains remarkable images and text from the first photoghrapher
allowed into the private world of the geisha. This is truly facinating.
